Community improvements via social interaction & meditation
The investigation started with a documentation of successful gathering locations already established within the district. A few were selected to be studied and their components broken down. By drawing out the shading device and shadow, they can be directly related to the positioning of the occupants to determine inhabiting parameters. The goal is that the success of these existing locations can be brought to new installations to spread the meditative/social experience across more of the community.
A method for creating shade within these structures would be to essentially fill them up with balloons. If the balloons are connected to a tank at the base, then the amount of shade can be controlled by deflating and inflating the balloons as needed.
The intended sites for the interventions are City-Owned vacant plots of land.
